are draped on top of each other to depict a deer standing at Kasuga Taisha in Nara in detail. At the time, it was popular with tourists from the continental United States during the Oriental boom. It was worked on by Royal Hawaiian Manufacturing Company, which was good at rayon wall shrinkage patterns. The company was founded in 1937 and by ʼ39 it had grown to 60 sewing machines and 85 employees. It has become an indispensable brand in telling the history of aloha shirts.
